  • Mulroy is the former director and principal architect of the Southern Nevada Water Authority, allowing Southern Nevada to not only weather the stresses of growth, but also one of the worst drought to befall the Colorado River. Mulroy will open the conference and speak about the risks and opportunities for groundwater in a climate-changed world.

  • The agenda features a lineup of expert speakers to share their real-world experiences of groundwater protection and conservation. See what's worked, what hasn't, hear new research, and take home new tools and approaches to managing groundwater in your community.

  • The conference's opening reception will be held at the Boise WaterShed Environmental Education Center. This LEED-certified building features an exhibit hall, library, theater/community room, and amazing artwork. The two acres surrounding the education center is a park-like experiences that integrates public arty, exhibits, landscaping, and a water feature that tells the story of Boise's watershed.

    Find like-minded groundwater enthusiasts during plentiful networking opportunities. Visit displays while you find common experiences and challenges, and make connections to find solutions.

  • #8: Restoring a Jewel and Protecting Groundwater Tour

    Enjoy a tour that weaves groundwater remediation and protection with city beautification through the construction of a park that's part of the Boise River Greenbelt's "Ribbon of Jewels."

  • The conference will include a keynote and book signing from this scientist/nonscientist writing team. They'll discuss their most recent book, "High and Dry: Meeting the Challenges of the World's Growing Dependence on Groundwater." Drawing in examples from around the world, the Alleys identify lessons learned in communicating and working with stakeholders on groundwater use and protection, and examples of how individuals and groups are making a difference.

  • Boise has it all - natural beauty, sustainability, a bustling downtown, and was one of the original pilot communities in the Groundwater Guardian program in 1994. It's been designated as a Groundwater Guardian ever since! Come early and/or stay late and see all that Boise has to offer.
