2017 National Conference
"People, Policies, and Practices to Protect and Conserve Groundwater"
Groundwater - it may be hidden from view, but it is a critical resource in meeting the growing demands for drinking water, agriculture, and industry in communities across the United States and around the globe. Overuse, depletion, and contamination threaten groundwater every day. It’s up to all of us to lead the way in identifying and implementing solutions to protect and conserve groundwater. Set in the vibrant city of Boise, Idaho, the 2017 National Conference showcased real-world solutions to groundwater management and provided experiences, research, lessons learned, networking, and inspiration to protect the resource on which we all depend - groundwater!
2015 National Conference
"It's Just the Beginning...Let's Get Started!"
The 2015 Groundwater Foundation National Conference was held October 20-22, 2015 at the Embassy Suites in Lincoln. It served as a call to action on behalf of groundwater. The future is upon us, and action is needed to identify challenges and develop approaches and solutions to address them. From climate change and growing societal needs to a wide variety of emerging contaminants, each of us will need to be prepared to prevent and mitigate the potential risks to this precious resource.
Through knowledgeable speakers, educational workshops, and unique tours, conference participants found tools and experiences to help them take action to protect groundwater in their communities.
2013 National Conference
"Tools for Groundwater Sustainability: Working Together to Meet the Challenges"
The 2013 Groundwater Foundation National Conference was held October 15-17, 2013 at the Mission Inn Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida. It provided resources, tools and knowledge for citizens and community leaders to get involved in practices which lead to groundwater sustainability.
The conference offered traditional presentations, networking opportunities, and optional workshops and tours. The presentations provided effective, proven, reliable groundwater education, protection and conservation solutions that can be adapted by conference attendees.
2011 National Conference
“Let’s Keep It Clean: Exploring A Collaborative Approach To Groundwater Protection”
The 2011 Groundwater Foundation National Conference and Groundwater Guardian and Green Sites Designation Celebration was held October 4-6 in Omaha, Nebraska.
The conference offered participants the knowledge and tools needed to build a far-reaching, collaborative groundwater protection strategy, one that when implemented truly makes a difference in protecting groundwater for future generations.
2009 and 2010 National Conference
After careful consideration and input from many Groundwater Guardian team members, The Groundwater Foundation Executive Committee of the Board of Directors chose to forgo a conference in 2009 and 2010. The Groundwater Foundation conducted a survey of potential conference participants and learned that due to the current economic situation many travel budgets have been cut, making it difficult to attend a national conference.
2008 National Conference
"Going Green For Groundwater"
The 2008 Groundwater Foundation National Conference and Groundwater Guardian and Green Sites Designation Celebration was held at Miracle Springs Resort and Spa in Desert Hot Springs, California, November 18-20.
In a world where going “green” is all the rage, has groundwater been forgotten? The 2008 Groundwater Foundation National Conference examined the importance of including groundwater in green efforts, opportunities for green groundwater actions, and how to share the message with the community.
2007 National Conference
"Groundwater Protection: Bridging the Gap Between What is Known and What is Practiced"
The 2007 Groundwater Foundation National Conference and Groundwater Guardian Designation was held November 18-30, 2007 at the Sheraton Denver West in Lakewood, Colorado.
